Time to Start Planning Your 2025 Home Renovation Projects
Happy New Year!
It’s hard to believe, but a new year is once again upon us. And if your 2025 plans include a home renovation project, the time to get started is now.
“Why the rush”, you may ask. It can take several weeks or even months to plan a complex project and secure the necessary construction permits. While we need this time to manage the design, planning, engineering, permitting, and construction, you’ll need to get to work planning the financial aspects of your project. Early in the process, you’ll need to talk to lenders or other financial advisors to make the funds available for your project and, if necessary, meet any tax-related deadlines. And with recent interest rate adjustments, many lenders are experiencing longer approval and closing periods.
To avoid disappointment, reach out to us as early in the year as possible. Ideally, the 2025 project planning process should start in January or February (but no later than March) so we can break ground in spring. For a typical project, a timetable like this will probably have you in your new space by summer or fall — or winter for larger and more complex projects.
Need Some Project Inspiration?
At Myers Constructs, we avoid common fleeting trends in home design. Instead, we start with your home’s existing style and design. Learning how you live in your home helps us design timeless, long-lasting projects that fit both. Look through some of our select recent projects for inspiration

Each year, Pantone chooses a “color of the year.” This year, it’s Pantone 17-1230 Mocha Mousse. We expect to see this and other deep, moody, saturated colors used in 2025 and beyond. |
If you’re looking for a wonderful book to curl up with on a cold winter day, we recommend The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living, available through a charming little Swedish bookstore in Minnesota. |
With the solstice recently passing, the darkest days of winter are behind us, we’re looking ahead to 2025 and the many new people we will meet. There will be new clients and their homes to get to know. There will be many new tradespeople and craftspeople to work with. All of these experiences recharge us both personally and professionally.
We look forward to meeting you and getting to know your home in 2025. Reach out here.
