Signs of an Organized Worksite

Chris, one of our lead carpenters, is temporarily off this job site, where we are renovating a few bathrooms. We have to wait a few days for glass and stone to be delivered, and I was on site today to meet the templaters from these two suppliers while Chris was on a small window replacement project in town. I wanted to share with you what an organized job site looks like:

The job site is left clean. This makes the customers really happy, and it makes picking up the job upon return really easy. You can see Chris has left his vacuum, and the heavy toilet and radiator, which will be installed later, on plywood sheets to protect the home’s floors.

Look at the new plumbing. Neat! Ball-valve shut offs. Someone vacuumed behind the new tub. That’s not an accident.

You can see the job box and project book stowed neatly along with some new lightbulbs for all of the new fixtures. The job box has documents like change order forms and timesheets in it, along with pens and paper. The project book has every detail of our project inside it. It’s the job Bible! We take great care with the project book.

The tile saw and tile-setting tools are stowed in the new bathtub, which Chris protected with a new, clean drop cloth.

Chris left the new vanity sink and faucet where the stone templater can find them, since the sink needs to go to the stone-cutting factory with the template. There, they are all fitted to be made ready for delivery and installation.

These are the two sets of notes Chris left for me. One pile is for the glass pro, and the other is for the stone pro. The tiles kept the piles from blowing away.
Chris made my job easy!
